It's not that there is any glaring deficiencies in the game, it's just that by 1993 there were much better platformers out there making this game feel a bit too generic. You play as Asterix fighting through level after level to free your friend Obelix from the Romans. You run around punching crazed animals and Romans, collecting stars and catapulting yourself from one stage to another, not straying much from the stereotypical platformer genre commonalities. If you love side scrolling games of this sort, this game will be enjoyable to you, for anyone else, there are better games in this genre to be played.
